A well known ScamPattern is NewWineInOldBottles. But the converse is also a ScamPattern. Some things are more valuable when they're new; getting something old and promoting it as something new is selling OldWineInNewBottles.

For example you can rebrand something that everyone already understands (ie. PublishAndSubscribe) as something everyone wants to understand (ie. AspectOrientedProgramming). Eg. AopIsMulticaster.
