Lakoff and Johnson are the authors of an outstanding and accessible introduction to ConceptualMetaphor titled MetaphorsWeLiveBy. It belongs on everyone's BookList.

I'd recommend WomenFireAndDangerousThings by Lakoff instead of MetaphorsWeLiveBy. It develops the same argument much further.
