Invisible College
An influential idea which came out of seventeenth century Europe. Can be applied to Universities on the web which are not extensions of a BrickAndMortar University.
There exists on the Internet the potential via Wiki of a WikiUniversity, where courses could be presented, modified, linked and reviewed by any participant. Included would be links to instructional media such as OpenBooks, OpenRoadMaps, CategoryClouds, BookLists, OpenCourses, and the like.
